I picked up a new transmitter to go with the completely rebuilt R2. This time around, I'm going to use a 2.4 ghz version of the Futaba transmitter I've used for the last 3 years. It's pretty rare that I'm around another builder with a similar frequency, but I did have an issue at Celebration V during the droid parade; that was one of the few times that nearly every builder had their droid on.
In addition, I want the added security of not feeling like I will catch outside (non-droid) interference. The thought of the new all-aluminum R2 going anywhere I don't want it to go is not pleasant. The 2.4ghz is more reliable.
This time, I'm only buying the transmitter and receiver. No need for servos this time.
