Say Hello to my Little Frame

This week, I received an email from a guy at the local PBS station. They are doing piece on students with "exceptional" interests. Evidently, he saw the story about the local Star Wars club and my web address. He will be here Sunday to do an interview, and he wants shots of the armor and the droid.

One problem...

There isn't much droid to show. I have lots of random parts, and the legs are really cool, but I want to have something that gives people an idea about the size of this replica. In order to have something that looks like an R2 unit, I decided to rough the frame together. I don't have my countersinking bit or drill here, so true assembly will have to wait. I just put it together like a puzzle; all the pieces just snapped in place.

This frame is a thing of beauty. If any part of droid building could be considered idiot proof, this is it. Many of the parts look similary, but slight variations ensure that you won't mix the parts up. If at any point you find that you are forcing something... you're doing it wrong.
