Back in the Swing of Things
I arrived back in Evansville tonight with the droid in tow. For the most part, I was able to dodge the weather and both the droid and I arrived dry. Now that everything is moved in, I was able to open some packages.
The first were Robart hinges bought in bulk thanks to the efforts of Jerry Chevalier. These small model hinges are perfect for all of the openings on an R2. Using the picture above, it wasn't hard to figure out how the tiny pieces went together.
Speaking of Jerry, a second box from him awaited me full of aluminum parts for dome which shipped this morning. I love my resin parts, and would never be able to build a droid without them, but the all aluminum is simply amazing. I will post pictures in the next few days of the dome as I make progress. Now I'm off to get organized.
On a side note, I will be taking some of my own droid parts to Free Comic Book Day in Evansville this Saturday. The event starts a 9am at Comic Quest on Morgan Avenue. I will have multiple troopers in support of the Evansville Star Wars Club. If you are in the area, stop by and see some progress.
