Don't listen to what someone is "planning" to do

Over the years, people have always asked for the best approach to any number of subjects. People ask about paint, people ask about parts, people ask about electronics. In response, various builders will offer up their methods, saying "I've done this" or "I've done that". Usually, there will be people who will chime in with "I plan to do this or that". When you hear that, I urge you to be a little cautious.

A person's R2 build is an ever evolving project. What I planned to do in 2007 was very different than what actually worked in 2008 when I finished my droid. I urge you to follow in the footsteps of people who have completed something and had time to test it out - let them learn the hard way. If someone says they "plan" to build or do something - always keep in mind that it could change and that the method might be untested.

When someone tells you their plan, keep a close eye on their progress and investigate more yourself. Just don't jump to make your plans off their plans.
